Carole Redmond

Carole grew up in Northern Ontario and obtained her law degree in the French Common Law Program from the University of Ottawa in 2011. Her first language spoken at home was French and she is fluently bilingual and offers legal services in both French and English. Before law school, Carole attended York University for her undergraduate studies in the Law and Society and Philosophy Honors Double Major program, where she was recognized on the Dean’s Academic Excellence and Achievement list.

During law school, Carole was involved in several advocacy and litigation academic activities. Carole’s focus was in international legal studies and alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, negotiation, arbitration, and International Commercial Arbitration. As a law student in Ottawa, Carole worked with Canada Revenue Agency, and the Department of Justice Canada.

Prior to being called to the Bar in Ontario, Carole articled at a leading boutique litigation law firm on Bay Street in Toronto, where she gained significant litigation and dispute resolution experience and appeared on a variety of matters before the Superior Court of Justice. Prior to joining Oldham Law Firm in 2017, Carole worked as a lawyer in Toronto in civil and commercial litigation, and insurance defence. Carole also has a broad range of experience handling fraud matters, commercial agreements, advertising and marketing law, and corporate privacy and regulatory compliance.

Carole’s current practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation matters, handling complex tort matters, negotiation and dispute resolution, advocacy before tribunals, and estate litigation matters.

She is a good standing member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, a member of the Advocate’s Society, the Ontario Bar Association, Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners, Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Ontario (AJEFO), and the Muskoka Law Association.

Carole volunteers as a “Big Sister” youth mentor with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and with the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program, which aims to alleviate the effects of poverty by serving meals in the community. Carole’s other volunteer work includes Pro Bono Ontario, which focuses on promoting access to justice to the public. Carole is passionate about community outreach programs that aim to remove barriers and promote services relating to mental health issues, poverty, and access to justice. In her spare time, Carole enjoys doing outdoor activities, taking in the Muskoka and Georgian Bay landscapes, planning her next adventure or travel destination, trying out new restaurants or cooking for family and friends, and enjoying music, arts, and theatre.
