MATTERS THAT OUR FIRM HAS ACTED ON

Our firm has acted for and represented clients in respect of the following matters:

The conversion of an apartment building to a condominium.  This included providing advice from the initial planning phase through to the successful sale of the condominiums.  We also continue to provide corporate governance advice to the condominium corporation.

Advising the seller in the sale of shares in a construction company to a foreign buyer.  We provided advice on the terms of the letter of intent, the share purchase agreement, competition agreement and the corporate governance.

Assisting a client in the successful purchase and rezoning of a property on a short time frame to allow for the expansion of their marina.

Our real estate department often acts in respect of syndicated mortgages and mortgages by clients’ Registered Retirement Savings Plans which are administered by a trustee.

Working alongside a developer in obtaining subdivision approval from the initial start of the development through to final approval.  We provided extensive advice on the subdivision agreement, restrictive covenants and the final agreement of purchase and sale.

Advising a purchaser of a local restaurant in respect of an asset purchase agreement.

Our firm has worked with a developer in respect of a phased condominium development for seniors housing beginning at the initial planning stages.

As part of an estate administration, we obtained a court order confirming the heirs entitled to the residue of the estate, in a situation where it was unclear who the heirs were.

Our real estate department has, on several occasions, obtained court orders to clarify ownership of title and/or remove a "cloud from title".
